One more step in the development of the IAU.
Crossbow Shooting Federation of Russia (CSFR) has made crossbow shooting available for the students of Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia – there has been recently set up a new crossbow shooting section, comprising students from more than 150 countries all over the world. Now every student has an opportunity of taking up such an exciting kind of sport!
One of the main goals of the IAU Executive Committee, elected at the General Assembly in 2017, is the increase in the number of countries – the IAU member Federations, where crossbow shooting is not well developed and the countries themselves haven’t joined the IAU yet.
A good example of the promotion and development of crossbow shooting in these countries is the one set by Crossbow Shooting Federation of Russia (CSFR). CSFR has set up a crossbow shooting section on the basis of a physical education department of Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia (RUDN), comprising students from more than 150 countries all over the world. As a result, everyone, regardless of their nationality, has an opportunity of taking up crossbow shooting.
It’s probable that we’ll see some RUDN athletes representing new countries – potential IAU Member Federations participating in the World Crossbow Championship in Ulyanovsk as guests.
We hope that the other IAU National Federations will take into account the positive experience of CSFR regarding the attraction and involvement of students studying at national Universities all over the world in crossbow sport.
In case the measures taken in this direction are successful, there is a true perspective of the foundation of new IAU Member Federations and conducting international crossbow competitions among students.
