World Cup Final Match Crossbow Strasbourg: We know the first winners

The IAU Match Division gathered in Strasbourg for the last event of the year – the World Cup Finals in 30m and 10m disciplines.

First day was dedicated to shooting on the 30m distance, 30 shots in standing position and 30 shots in kneeling position. With almost no wind and pleasant light conditions, the day promised a smooth competition; but the cold morning with 10°C took its toll and made the standing results lower than usual. Kneeling part was done, after a break, in warmer conditions. So, no world records on this day.

At 3pm, best 8 shooters from the qualifications entered the final part of the competition, shot in an elimination mode after the 10 shot initial series. This time there were no German participants in the final part, so the decision was to be made between Switzerland and the host country, France.

Silver medal: Michaël Dhalluin (FRA)

Bronze medal: Sarah Hügli (SUI)

Field Crossbow World Cup Final 2024 - Match Play Eliminations and Medal Matches

The second day of the Field Division World Cup Finals is the day of the decisions. In an elimination mode, individual pairings from qualification continue to compete in 1/8 finals, quarterfinals and semifinals till the best four in each category (men and women) are found for the bronze medal match and the gold medal match.

Field Crossbow World Cup Final 2024 - Match Play Qualification

The World Cup Final of the Field Division just started with the qualification round - Match Play Individuals.

The best 32 field crossbow shooters of the world meet to find the World Cup winner in the category of men and women. As this is the last competition of the saison, the new owners of the Crystal Globe for the male and female Shooter of the Year will be known at the end.

The qualified shooters of the top 16 places of the world ranking shoot an IR300 programme. The Zagreb range is set up for outdoor shooting at a distance of 35 meters. After 30 shots on this only distance, the shooters will be sorted according to the achieved qualification results. This list determines the initial pairings for the 1/8 finals for tomorrow.

Tomorrow, September 20, the IAU Field Division World Cup Final will begin in Zagreb with the competition of the 16 best athletes from the IAU Ranking list in the men's and women's competition of the Qualification IR300 at 35m.
On Saturday, September 21, the IAU World Cup Final winners will be selected in the elimination matches and awarded with the IAU Small Crystal Globes.

Match Division 10m and 30m World Cup Final 2024 - Invitation and Information

After a series of World Cups determining the world ranking, 16 best competitors in the 30m open class, along with 16 best male and female competitors in the 10m discipline, will meet in Strasbourg to close up the competition year in the finals. Medals will be awarded to the top three athletes and small crystal globes to the winners of the finals. Big "Shooter of the Year" crystal globes wait for the best ranked shooter in the 30m open class and for the best ranked shooter for the aggregate 10m ranking.

The World Cup Final will take place at the shooting range of Racing Club de Strasbourg from 3rd to 5th October 2024.

For all affected federations: please check the lists of qualifiers and submit the registration forms not later than 23rd September 2024 to the address of the organising team. In case of non-availability of a nominated athlete, please inform immediately - without waiting for the deadline - the IAU office, so that replacement athletes following in the list may be nominated and invited.

Along with the competitions, a session of the IAU Executive Committee will take part to decide on issues affecting the next season. We are still looking for organisers of Match Division World Championships and some competitions of the Match World Cup series. Suggestions and ideas are higly welcomed.
