World Cup Munich - Match Division - Day One
The Match Division World Cup weekend on the Olympic shooting range in Hochbrück near Munich started with a long day. After a longer forced break, the 30m discipline was on the program again as the starter of the series. First medals and first world ranking points were earned in the open class: Gold went to Swiss shooter Joëlle Baumgartner – 571 (276,295); silver to another Swiss shooter Ramona Bieri – 568 (280, 288). Bronze goes to France with Thomas Debenne – 564 (280, 284). The afternoon of Day 1 was filled with the 10m competitions in the categories of men and women. In the men’s category, the winner, Romain Meignan from France, scored a fantastic 396 and took the lead in the 10m ranking. Second place went to Stefan Reichhuber from Germany (393), followed by another German shooter Christian Dreßel with 392 points. In the ladies’ competition, shot on a late evening, the first two winning places go to Germany. Gold was earned by Jolanda Prinz (392), the silver medal by Britta Wolf (390).
