The International Crossbow Shooting Union mourns the loss of Franz-Peter Frommlet (GER), who passed away unexpectedly on 1 September 2026 at the age of 66. Franz-Peter was closely connected with crossbow shooting for more than three decades, first as an active competitor and later increasingly as a coach and official. He competed in Match Crossbow at both 10 m and 30 m at national and international level and remained an active crossbow shooter until the final years of his life. For many years, he supported and accompanied the German national team at IAU competitions, sharing his experience and knowledge with athletes and colleagues. In September 2025, Franz-Peter became a member of the IAU Technical Committee Match. His last international event was the European Championships in Châteauroux in August 2026, where he once again accompanied the German team only a few weeks before his passing. With Franz-Peter Frommlet, the IAU loses a dedicated member of the international crossbow community and a valued friend and colleague. We will remember him with gratitude and respect. Our sincere condolences go to his family, friends and all those who shared his passion for crossbow sports. |

After the big surprise of 2025, when a group of crossbow enthusiasts turned a regional shooting range into a world class location for 30m Match Crossbow, they want to do it again. This year, the schedule is open for more shooters, offering additional possibility to compete in Sezemice Cup, where their actual category counts. The Organiser aims to attract more U23 and Seniors, as a part of the IAU long-term strategy of increasing international start possibilities to as many shooters as possible. The Sezemice Cup will be crowned with a Super Final according to specific local rules - check them here. At the usual places in the Calendar section, you can find the invitation, time schedule and entry forms for the two instances of the World Cup and the entry form for the Sezemice Cup.
